About Us

Pâtissiere Arshiya’s passion and curiosity for exploring and sharing good food led her to spend over a year in Paris, training and working in the culinary capital while refining her skills. In Paris, Arshiya trained at Ferrandi School of Culinary Arts, then worked at Le Meurice Hotel and at Arnaud Delmontel Boulanger Pâtissier Traiteur, to bring the most authentic and flavorful French delicacies to Chicago’s Lincoln Park.

At Verzênay, we love to make memorable and delicious chef crafted baked goods and desserts. Our mission is to provide customers with products that are the best in taste and quality, with locally sourced clean ingredients. We value our relationship with farmers as it supports our community directly and it gives us the ability to use great tasting ingredients.

Arshiya and her husband Aqeel started their small business in January 2014—selling at Green City Farmers Market and supplying wholesale to hotels and coffee shops. In July 2021, they opened their first store in Lincoln Park.
